The hot summer has passed and the cool weather of autumn has arrived. During such seasonal transitions, the skin becomes dry, so people often pay extra attention to skin care.
What is easy to overlook at this time is the scalp. Related experts explain that people with hair loss in particular should pay attention to scalp care during seasonal changes. They add that during seasonal transitions, the oil-moisture balance of the scalp breaks down for various reasons such as large daily temperature differences or lack of moisture, so hair tends to fall out more easily.
According to these experts, in autumn, as the amount of sunlight decreases, secretion of testosterone—a male hormone that induces hair loss—increases, which can interfere with hair growth. Hair can also fall out when a scalp worn out by summer UV rays is left unmanaged.
They say, "When many hair follicles have been lost, it is not easy to improve the condition through hair loss prevention methods, so it is also advisable to consider active approaches such as a hair transplant," adding, "Hair transplant surgery involves harvesting hair from areas where hair is relatively less prone to falling out and transplanting it to the areas where it is needed. Even when there are many empty areas requiring large-volume transplantation, these areas can be filled in naturally."
Director Yoo Hwa-jung of Modi Hair Plant said, "With hair loss, if you respond effectively at the right time through accurate examination, the rate of progression can be slowed to some extent, so it is good to find an appropriate treatment method through sufficient consultation with medical staff," adding, "In the case of non-incision (FUE) hair transplantation, one of the surgical methods, hair is transplanted without incisions or scars, and the procedure is customized taking into account each individual's degree of hair loss progression, hair direction, depth, and other factors."
Director Yoo advised, "To prevent hair loss during seasonal changes, it is important to improve habits that are not good for scalp health and to make efforts to maintain moisture in the scalp," and "It is good to wash your hair after going out to keep it clean, and to refrain from frequent dyeing and perms that irritate the scalp."
