Virtual Clinic Tour · Director Yoo Hwa-jung & Director Lee Yu-jin
Your First Visit to a Hair Loss Clinic: What Spaces Will You See, and What Happens There?
If you are preparing for your first visit to a hair loss clinic, you may be wondering, “What tests will I have?” or “What will we talk about in the consultation room?” Follow Modi Hair Plant Clinic’s virtual tour to preview the spaces in advance, from the area where your scalp condition is recorded to the consultation room, the surgery and recovery spaces, and the shampoo room.
Introduced in person by Director Yoo Hwa-jung and Director Lee Yu-jin, this tour is not simply about the interior. Its focus is on helping first-time visitors understand what steps they will go through at the clinic and how they will come to understand their own condition.
Summary in 3 Points
- Magnified scalp examination and overall photos record different information. Detailed conditions such as hair thickness and density are reviewed together with your overall appearance.
- In the consultation room, your records are connected to your current concerns. While reviewing your photos and examination data, you will receive an explanation of your condition and discuss the appropriate treatment direction.
- Check the post-surgery flow in advance as well. Knowing about the recovery space and the first shampoo guidance on the following day can help you plan your visit schedule.
This article is based on the clinic introduction video released in November 2024 and the current information on our website. The layout of spaces, equipment, and available services may change, so please check the latest information before your visit.
First, Take a Look Around the Clinic in the Video
The video begins in the first-floor garden and lobby, then introduces the examination and photography spaces, consultation room, and surgery and recovery spaces in turn. This article focuses on the care process that first-time visitors are likely to be curious about.
1. Garden and Lobby: Easing the Pressure from the Moment You Walk In
The first space in the video is the first-floor garden. The lobby that follows is presented as a space featuring green and white, Modi’s brand colors, along with plants. The two Directors explain that the intention is for patients to feel comfortable visiting, without feeling that the clinic is too intimidating or distant.
Hair loss can be a difficult topic to talk about with others. Simply seeing in advance where to enter, where to check in, and where you will wait may make preparing for your first visit a little easier.
Our current website also introduces Modi Hair Plant Clinic as a standalone five-story building, with consultation, surgery, recovery, and research spaces separated by floor. You can view photos of the actual spaces on the Clinic Tour page.
2. Magnified Scalp Examination and Photography: What Is the Difference?
The video distinguishes between a magnified examination that looks closely at the scalp and photography that records your overall appearance. Both may look like processes of taking pictures, but the information they capture is different.
Magnified Scalp Examination
This is a process of closely magnifying the scalp and hair to observe and record hair thickness, density, scalp condition, and more. It is used as material to explain detailed conditions that can easily be missed when looking from the outside alone.
Overall Comparison Photos
This is a process of recording your overall appearance, such as the hairline and crown. The video explains that a separate photography room was set up to keep the background, lighting, and shooting angle consistent.
Hair volume can look different depending on lighting, angle, and where the hair is parted. Comparison photos are a resource for reviewing progress while reducing these differences in conditions. However, the cause of hair loss or treatment results is not determined entirely from a single photo or a specific number. During consultation, your current symptoms, medical history, and examination data are reviewed together.
3. Consultation Room: Time to Understand Your Current Condition Through Your Photos
In the consultation room shown in the video, the photos taken are reviewed together on a monitor. For follow-up visits, it is a space where previous records are compared with your current appearance and any changes observed in your scalp and hair are explained.
If you are preparing for your first consultation, try organizing the points below. Rather than deciding in advance on the name of the treatment you want, this helps you describe the changes you are currently experiencing in specific terms.
- When things changed: When changes in the amount of shedding, hair thickness, or hairline began
- Which areas concern you: Areas such as the front hairline, M-shaped hairline, part line, or crown
- What care you are currently using: Medications and products you are taking or using, and any previous treatment or surgery
- What changes you hope for: Your usual hairstyle and situations in daily life that have been inconvenient
Records are a resource for understanding the treatment direction together. Whether any examination or treatment is needed is decided after reviewing each individual’s condition, and not every examination or care service introduced in the video applies equally to everyone.
4. Operating Room and Recovery Space: Previewing the Process You Will Go Through
The operating room tour introduces a dedicated chair for hair follicle harvesting, a microscope, and a monitor. The video also explains that the microscope view is shared with the patient so that the harvested hair follicles can be viewed together.
Because the surgery can take a long time, it is worth confirming during your consultation what position you will be in, how to ask questions during the procedure, and where you will rest after surgery. Please receive specific guidance on surgical positioning and procedure based on your surgical plan and individual condition.
The recovery space that follows is introduced as an area where patients can rest or companions can wait. If you plan to bring a companion or use the waiting area, please contact the clinic before your visit.
Having certain equipment or spaces does not in itself guarantee a particular surgical result or graft survival rate. When looking at facilities, it is important to also review the medical team’s explanations and your individual surgical plan.
5. Shampoo Room and Powder Room: Preparing for Care on the Day After Surgery
Another space introduced in the video is the shampoo room. Modi provides guidance for the first shampoo on the day after surgery; patients usually visit the clinic to have their hair washed with the help of a nurse and receive an explanation of how to care for it at home.
At first, you may be unfamiliar with how to wet and wash the transplanted area. After confirming the method at the clinic, you continue the care you were shown at home. The video explains that a powder room is available so you can tidy your hair after shampooing or care.
For the first shampoo schedule and washing method based on your individual condition, please follow the guidance of your medical team first. You can also find more details on the Post-Surgery Care System page.
Before Your First Visit, Please Check These Three Things

- Materials to prepare: When booking, please ask which materials are needed, such as current medications, past treatment records, or older photos.
- Visit schedule: Please check in advance the scope of same-day examination and consultation, the expected time required, and whether a companion may accompany you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the magnified scalp examination and the photography room photos taken for the same purpose?
The video explains their roles separately. The magnified examination is used to look at hair thickness, density, and detailed scalp conditions, while the photography room photos are used to record overall appearance and progress. Both sets of data are reviewed together, but the cause and treatment direction are determined by considering the full consultation.
Does every surgical patient use the care equipment shown in the video?
The fact that equipment is introduced is different from an individual needing that care. Whether it applies, when, which care items are included, and the costs must be confirmed based on your current condition and treatment plan. Rather than assuming all the care in the video is provided by default, please ask specifically when booking or during consultation.
Can I look around the operating room or research spaces when I come for a consultation?
The spaces shown in the virtual tour may differ from the areas accessible during an actual visit. Access may be restricted depending on surgery schedules, hygiene and safety management, and space operations, so if there is a space you would like to see, please contact us before your visit.
If It’s Your First Time, Start with What You’re Curious About
You don’t need to decide on a treatment before coming to the clinic. Start by telling us when you first noticed changes in your hair or which areas have been on your mind.
Modi Hair Plant Clinic aims to provide consultations in which we review your current condition together and explain things so you can understand the appropriate treatment direction.
