A high hairline that makes the forehead look wide, or an angular M-shaped forehead, can easily give a harsh or older impression. Women in particular tend to worry more about such issues. Recently, hair transplantation has been drawing attention as a way to improve a hairline one is unhappy with. It was previously performed for the purpose of treating hair loss, but recently it is also being applied to address a congenitally wide forehead or to tidy up an uneven hairline.
A hairline hair transplant is a hair transplant surgery in which hair follicles are harvested from the occipital or temporal area, where hereditary hair loss does not occur, and transplanted into the hairline; it plays a very large role in changing the overall impression of the face. However, hair transplant surgery is not simply a matter of cutting hair and attaching it. It is a highly difficult surgery in which grafts must be transplanted in between existing hairs, and in the case of women, unlike men, the hair in the occipital donor area is often thin, so even greater care is required.
Recently, non-incision hair transplantation, in which hair is transplanted directly without making an incision in the occipital area, has been drawing attention. In particular, there is a high preference for the non-shaving method of harvesting follicles, because it avoids the tell-tale signs of a hair transplant caused by shaving and removes concerns about scarring and pain from an incision. In addition, because non-shaving, non-incision hairline hair transplantation allows the hairstyle, hair direction, thickness and so on to be checked visually while only healthy follicles are carefully selected for transplantation, the graft survival rate is excellent and natural results can be achieved.
Yoo Hwa-jung, Representative Director of Modi Hair Plant, advised, “Because non-incision, non-shaving hair transplantation is a highly difficult surgery, the capability of the operating medical team is more important than anything else,” adding, “Using a patented clipper designed exclusively for non-incision, non-shaving procedures can help achieve a natural hair transplant.” She further added, “It is important to choose a clinic that can raise the graft survival rate through systematic post-operative care and continuous regular check-ups after the transplant.”
